The Man Who Changed the World
«Years ago, as the Cold War was coming to an end, I said to my fellow leaders around the globe: The world is on the cusp of great events, and in the face of new challenges all of us will have to change, you as well as we. For the most part, the reaction was polite but skeptical silence.» – Gorbachev .
Was Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev a religious believer? Ronald Reagan sometimes speculated to his aides that Gorbachev’s use of phrases such as “God bless” might be an expression of religious faith. He was convinced that Gorbachev was capable of changing the Soviet system, and he thought the key to such a turnaround might be religion.
His perestroika and glasnost reforms helped spell the end of communism in eastern Europe and the Soviet Union in the late 1980s and early 1990s. He kept Soviet troops stationed in East Germany in their barracks the night of 9 November 1989, as the border was opened.

We need to do something if we don’t want to loose everything.
